Deer Lake Real Estate

Deer Lake is home of the Deer Lake Regional Airport with a population of just over 5,000 people. The name Deer Lake comes from Loggers and trappers first arriving from Cape Breton Island in 1864. They would later start farming the land. In 1922, a work camp was set up for the pulp and paper company and then in 1925 the town was constructed including a railroad, terminal, churches and a small hospital. Deer Lake is the gateway to the Northern Peninsula and the closest major community to Gros Morne National Park.
